In this article we will introduce the fundamentals and importance of Quality Assurance followed by it’s role in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

Quality Assurance (QA) Engineers play a pivotal role in software development. QA or Test Engineers are involved from project launch to post deployment support.

Fundamentals of Quality Assurance

In this section, we will name and elaborate on some of the key concepts when it comes the fundamentals of Quality Assurance.

  1. Verification vs. Validation: Software testing encompasses two key activities — verification and validation. Verification ensures that the software is built to match predefined specifications, while validation checks whether the software meets the end-users’ needs and expectations. Validation and Verification are usually measured against functional and non-functional requirements.
